OLDN Conference Botswana

, ,

In Gaborone, Botswana, I was happy to attend the International OD and Change Conference of OLDN. The Organization Leadership & Development Network is an OD initiative from Zimbabwe with members from all over the globe, under the excellent leadership of Dr. Justine Chinoperekweyi,. The conference in Botswana was organized largely by Emmanuel Njang and my friend Bontle Marumoloa.

With a large variety of talks to enjoy and learn from, allow me to mention four inspiring presentations. Lucy Mary Marowa (CEO of the National Blood Service in Zimbabwe) vividly showed us the importance of both heart- and mindset in change. Kemi Akindutire explained her PhD research on the Corporate Purpose of people and organizations. Paul Mutabele explained the National Project 2036 of the Botswana Government and the interesting discussion on how to prevent politicizing such national plans. Last but not least, Dr Vuyi (Vuyiwe Marambana) provided the group with a few very interactive exercises on Design Thinking.

Wonderful to meet such an inspiring group of professionals, determined to implement interventions for the sustainable development of their organizations and countries.
