Syrian women

,

These Tunisian delicacies came along during, for now, the last training I gave for Oumnia Works. It was a promising group of Syrian women with many stories and sometimes acrimonious situations, but with a fantastic counselor/translator who is a support and advocate for them. For seven years, Oumnia Works provided these wonderful trainings to (mostly) Muslim fathers and mothers in the context of intercultural parenting and anti-radicalization. ‘Necessary conversations’ I often called it. Across the country, Corona has taken away the walks to schools and community centers and cut ties with officials. For now, painfully, Oumnia Works is calling it quits.
